Did you attend this year’s Jeans & Jewels? NAM was grateful to welcome almost 300 guests to Shirley Acres last Friday, October 8th. After over a year of pandemic isolation, NAM was happy to reconnect with our supporters, and celebrate the ways that our community has helped our neighbors in need during the past year.

Guests played roulette and other games provided by Southwest Casinos, and enjoyed live music played by two difference cover bands. With the live entertainment, beautiful garden venue, and the opportunity to celebrate with fellow NAM supporters after enduring a global crisis, Jeans & Jewels was truly a Texas-sized party. “What a perfect night!” said one attendee. “It was so fun to see everyone in person after being stuck at home for so long.”
Jeff & Rhiannon rocked dueling pianos in the Garden Room, while cover duo Kenny & Ana played country classics in the Pavilion.
Mark and Paula Stoebner were honored with the Volunteer of The Year Award at the VIP Reception. Both have been long-time volunteers at NAM, and they continued to show up to NAM every day during the worst times of the pandemic, providing much needed daily help at the food pantry. This is the first time NAM has presented the Volunteer of the Year Award, that will carry their name going forward.
Event attendees donated over $120,000 towards NAM’s programs that provide basic and emergency human need, with a generous donor giving a last-minute matching contribution of $20,000.
“We are so thankful for our friends and donors” said Les Cave, NAM President & CEO. “They continue to support the work we do” added Cave.
During its last fiscal year, NAM touched the lives of more than 132,000 people through its many programs and services. Thanks to the generous support from the attendees of Jeans & Jewels 2021, NAM will be able to continue helping many more neighbors in need in the year to come.
