How is Giving Tuesday different for NAM in 2021 than in previous years?
In 2020, you, our NAM supporters, joined in this global day of giving at a higher number than previous years, along with the rest of the world: Giving Tuesday 2020 saw an increase of 29% in donations worldwide. NAM saw a 26% increase in donations on Giving Tuesday 2020 - a record breaking amount of giving to NAM in a single day.
This year at NAM, we also saw an increase in the need for our services from our neighbors. The trend set by the pandemic in 2020 has continued into this year, as many struggle to recover from the economic impacts of this worldwide crisis. From October 2020 - December 2021, 136,000 clients sought and received services from Northwest Assistance Ministries - a number we have never seen before.
How can you participate in Giving Tuesday 2021 to help these neighbors in need?
- GIVE. Give any amount.
Many donations of $5 or more create a collective impact. No amount is too small to contribute.
- Be a Digital Ambassador for NAM Repost our Giving Tuesday content. On facebook and LinkedIn, hit the “Share” button to repost to your social media feeds. On twitter, you can retweet our content. And on instagram, you can place our posts into your instagram stories. There’s the option to include a brief message telling your social media networks why you care about NAM’s mission of neighbors helping neighbors.
- Post an Unselfie to show your friends and family why you support NAM! Download the template here, or handwrite your own , with a personal message of why you support our mission of neighbors helping neighbors.
- Host a social media fundraiser on facebook or instagram. Social media allows you to create a personal ask for a cause you truly care about from your network of friends and family.
Facebook: visit our Facebook Page, click the "Fundraisers" button at the top of the page, and then "Create a Fundraiser".
Instagram: Find any post you like on our Instagram Page, click "Add to Stories" at the bottom of the post, find the the DONATIONS button, and select @namhelps as your benefitting charity
