NAM Receives 40 Thousand Pound Food Donation

On Wednesday morning, March 18, 2020, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints arrived at NAM with an 18-wheeler truck with over 40 thousand pounds of food to donate to the Joanne Watford Nutrition Center.

This is the second time that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has helped NAM during a time of great need. In November of last year, the congregation donated 20,000 pounds of food to help feed families during the holiday season.

Right now, during this time of public health concern the community is in need of assistance more than ever. NAM is grateful to the church for this bountiful gift that will help fill the shelves of our Nutrition Center. NAM is open to those who are struggling during these uncertain times and the generous donation from The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints will ensure that NAM can help more neighbors in need.

"We would like to thank The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for donating all of this wonderful food that will help so many in our community," said Les Cave, President & CEO of NAM. "We are eternally grateful and look forward to continuing this relationship with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints."

Special thanks to the more than 70 missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who donated their time to volunteer to assist with unloading the truck and stocking the shelves in the Nutrition Center. Their dedication to the community and NAM are greatly appreciated.

NAM's Joanne Watford Nutrition Center still has shelves left to fill. More than 1,000 people visit NAM's Nutrition Center every month needing food. For more information on how you can donate to NAM, visit namonline.org or call 281-885-4555.
