JEANS & JEWELS’ LUNCHEON AND STYLE SHOW RAISED MORE THAN $55,000

The 2016 Jeans & Jewels’ Luncheon and Style Show raised more than $55,000 benefiting Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM).

The event took place at Shirley Acres on Thursday, September 22, 2016. This year’s theme, Paris, Texas, honored Lauren Temple, member of NAM’s Board of Trustees. Dana Tyson, host of The Morning Show on SUNNY 99.1, was the Emcee at this year’s event. Both Lauren and Dana are long-time supporters of NAM’s mission.

This was the 18th Jeans & Jewels Luncheon and Style Show and the second out of three annual fundraising events that ensure the continued support of NAM’s programs and services for families in need in the Houston area. More than 300 guests attended this event.

“Organizing an event of this caliber is always a fun experience for the Jeans & Jewels’ Committee and NAM staff,” explained Meredith Sharp, Vice President of Fund Development. “We were deeply moved by Lauren’s kind words and it was great to see how many of her family and friends traveled from different places just to support her during this year’s Luncheon and Style Show.”

During the event, models showcased designs from Anything Bling, MRS Couture and Cavender’s on the runway. Guests also had the opportunity to purchase items from vendor tables by Kendra Scott, Elaine Turner and The Bath Hut. Guests also enjoyed a makeup bar by Chanel. A bid board with different auction items was also available. Diane Lipton was the winner of the much-anticipated raffle for a vintage Chanel handbag valued at $6,300.

The last Jeans & Jewels event for this season is the 2016 Gala honoring Tom and Darlis Fuller. The event will take place at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott on Saturday, October 22, 2016.Individual tickets for the Gala tables are $200 per person and the cost for a table is at $2,000.
