2020 Vision Quilted with Love

On Saturday, February 15, 2020, Klein Texas Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sponsored the 24th annual Interfaith Quilting Bee at the Klein Stake Center.

This year’s theme was “2020 Vision Quilted with Love”. Many local congregations gathered to culminate a year of working on quilts to donate to Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM). Quilters of all skill levels worked together to create two-hundred and sixteen (216) quilts. These quilts and blankets that were lovingly sewn with care will benefit NAM and the local families we help that are in crisis.

During the event, Les Cave, President & CEO of NAM, gave a profound speech about the huge impact the quilts have continually made among those who are recipients. There was also a special visit from a former client who received one of these beautiful quilts from NAM. She was grateful for the help NAM gave her during her time of need and said that she "still has the quilt and treasures it to this day."

Some of the groups that participated in this year's Quilting Bee included Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Community, Hosanna Lutheran Church, Northwoods Presbyterian, Greenwood Forest Quilters, St. Edwards Catholic Community, Ninth Church of Christ Scientist, Waller Ward of the Cypress Texas Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and Klein Texas Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and more. We are thankful for their dedication to NAM and their extraordinary skill and exquisite craftsmanship.
