This is the short story of Lindsey, a single mom in serious trouble. With little warning, Lindsey and her young son found themselves in a serious domestic violence situation. She called NAM's Family Violence Center hotline for help, and soon had a plan to flee—but no resources for housing or an apartment.
Thankfully, the FVC had received special funding and covered her deposit as well as first month’s rent. The next month brought more challenges when Lindsey lost her job.
NAM was there to serve in her time of need. The FVC helped with rent again, as well as child care costs so Lindsey could search for employment.
That encouragement and support was enough to turn Lindsey’s life around. Today she has a new job, her own vehicle, and a safe, new apartment.
Lindsey and her son are thriving—because NAM Serves.
