Northwest Assistance Ministries welcomed back our Young at Heart Seniors on Tuesday, June 1. It is the first time that these seniors have gathered socially, in-person at NAM since the program was put on hold in March of 2020 due to the pandemic. The seniors are participating in group exercise and dance, bingo, Helping Hands Crafts and other group activities. Seniors also receive a warm nutritious meal on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

During the pandemic, NAM utilized technology to keep the group updated and to break up their week with some Zoom Bingo. "We were able to keep in touch with almost everyone and the Zoom Bingo was a lot of fun," said Eva Galloway, Young at Heart Director, "but nothing is like having them all here. They are like family."

Many safety protocols remain in place to protect the seniors as they gather at NAM, but just having the opportunity to gather and socialize makes for a great day at NAM. For more information on Young at Heart please call 281-885-4600.
