Northwest Assistance Ministries is Awarded a $15,000 Grant from Bank of America Charitable Foundation

Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) received a $15,000 Basic Needs grant from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation.

A community partner reception for NAM and others grant recipients was held at the Houston Ballet Center for Dance on Thursday, December 8, 2016. Attendees joined the President of Bank of America Houston, Hong Ogle. Erin Broussard, Vice President of Program Services represented NAM during the event.

“We are excited about receiving this grant because we know how much help is needed right now in our community,” Broussard explained. “This grant will allow us to continue helping homeless individuals as well as continue with our homelessness prevention programs at NAM’” she said.

Last year alone, NAM helped more than 114,000 individuals and supported the homeless population in northwest Houston by providing either housing or homeless prevention to 144 families totaling 491 individuals. These individuals were helped by moving them off the streets or enabling them to remain in their homes, which in turn helps relieve and avoid the impact that homelessness can have on children and families.

NAM would like to thank Bank of America Charitable Foundation for their continued support and for aiding us in our mission of Neighbors Helping Neighbors.
