Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) marked a new era of Neighbors Helping Neighbors on August 11, 2016 with the groundbreaking ceremony for its new Resale and Training Center.  NAM’s, president, board of directors, staff and members of the community and congregations all gathered for the event.

The ceremony was possible thanks to the success of NAM’s capital campaign, Roots and Wings, which began in 2013 and raised more than $5 million for the construction of NAM’s new Resale and Training Center.

“We are so excited to see this project finally come to fruition,” explained Carole Little, NAM’s President and CEO. “This initiative demonstrates the power of Neighbors Helping Neighbors and we are so grateful to all our supporters for believing in NAM’s mission and providing the community with the space they deserve to benefit from programs and services that ultimately allow our clients to reach financial, professional and emotional independence,” Little said.

The Resale and Training Center will be home to NAM’s resale store, Treasures of the Heart, featuring 30,000 square feet of retail space and will also the new space for NAM’s ever-expanding education programs at the Learning Center, Meals on Wheels, special events and others. This new facility is expected to benefit Neighbors in Need, the community and NAM’s internal operations.

The construction of NAM’s new Retail and Training Center is expected to be completed in the summer of 2017.

Northwest Assistance Ministries is a non-profit, community-based social service agency that strives to meet basic human needs through Neighbors Helping Neighbors. NAM provides assistance in areas such as food, shelter, health, education, safety, and financial education.
