NAM's First Neighborhood Super Site Food Giveaway

On Tuesday, August 11, 2020, Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) hosted its first Neighborhood Super Site Food Giveaway at the Planet Ford Stadium in Spring, TX. With the help of our wonderful volunteers, and in partnership with the Houston Food Bank and Spring ISD, we fed approximately 1,300 families.

From 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. volunteers and NAM staff handed out 70 pounds of free food to each family that came through. Vehicles lined up in the parking lot and were served in the order of arrival. Fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, and dairy products were placed inside the trunk of the cars by our wonderful volunteers.

NAM is extremely grateful to all the volunteers who endured the Texas heat to help serve the community. The Neighborhood Super Site Food Giveaway would not have been possible without volunteers from NCL, New Destiny Praise and Worship Center, and more. Thank you to all the groups and individual volunteers who came out. We appreciate everything you do for NAM!

NAM is still in need of volunteers to help during the next two Neighborhood Super Site Food Giveaways on Tuesday, August 25, and Tuesday, September 8 to direct traffic and carry food to cars. Volunteers will be required to wear a face mask, have their temperature checked upon arrival, and social distancing will be enforced. NAM will provide disposable gloves, water, and snacks for all volunteers. If you would like to participate in this volunteer opportunity and sign-up for a shift please call Crystal Ortiz at (281) 885-4604 or email [email protected].

NAM's next Neighborhood Super Site Food Giveaways will be held at the same location -  23802 Cypresswood Drive, Spring, TX 77373 - on Tuesday, August 25 and Tuesday, September 8. Gates open at 9 a.m. and food will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. Please stay in your vehicle and wear a mask.
