Over the past three years, Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) has placed Behavioral Health as one of its priorities to assist the needs of our clients. Candace Runaas, the Director of Behavioral Health, has been hired to share her expertise with the organization and the Northwest Houston community moving forward. Runaas was formally trained at Our Lady of the Lake University and obtained her Masters of Psychology. She has extensive experience with non-profits that supported Central Houston, allowing her to gain insight and a complete understanding of those from all walks of life.

The Behavioral Health program is currently assisting clients in the community dealing with Depression, Anxiety, and anything relating to Substance Abuse. Soon, the program will offer Group and Community therapy, Mind-Body medicine groups, coaching for interview and employment readiness and will expand based on the needs of the community. “I believe that will be first and foremost,” said Runaas. “Being able to look at what the community needs and once we look at that, we will be able to address those needs with whatever service seems to best fit.”

When clients are needing Behavioral Health services, contact Centralized Intake to ensure the proper paperwork is documented and provided to the case managers. For more information, visit namonline.org or call Candace Runaas at (281) 885-4662.
