NORTHWEST ASSISTANCE MINISTRIES’ LEARNING CENTER ANNOUNCES NEW QUICKBOOKS CLASS

HOUSTON, TX — The Learning & Training Center at Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) is now working with Houston Community College (HCC) to offer QuickBooks classes.

NAM and HCC began collaborating in Fall 2019 with Word/Excel classes. This Spring they are expanding the Administrative Professional classes to offer QuickBooks training. The 6-week program starts on April 7, 2020 and will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Scholarships for the QuickBooks training are funded by the United Way Harvey Relief grant and includes books and other materials required for the class. Additionally, all vocational training programs at NAM provide financial literacy, financial coaching and job search assistance through the staff of the Learning & Training Center.

“QuickBooks is a top-rated accounting software for small businesses, so knowing how to use it makes it one of the top skills to have,” said Mary Silbert, Director of NAM’s Learning & Training Center. “A deep understanding of the software will open up new opportunities for these students and give them a better way to secure their financial future.”

To find out if you qualify, or if you would just like more information about the QuickBooks class, please call 281-885-4616.

The Learning and Training Center at NAM provides adult students with the vocational training they need to start a new career. During the fiscal year 2018-2019, the Learning and Training Center awarded 86 clients with vocational training scholarships and provided GED and ESL classes to 489 students.
