NAM is Gearing Up for its Holiday Project 2019

Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) is gearing up for its Holiday Project 2019!

The purpose of the annual Holiday Project, which consists of a food and toy drive, is to provide local families in need with food and toys for the holiday season. Registration for the Holiday Project began in September, and those meeting eligibility requirements were given food vouchers to redeem for holiday meals in November and December. Families with children 12 and under were also given toy vouchers.

This year, NAM will oversee its very first Fall Festival in conjunction with its November food distribution on Saturday, November 23, 2019.  This free event will happen from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. where there will be games for the kids, a Fall photo area for families, and free food for everyone to enjoy.

On Saturday, December 14, 2019 the holiday festivities will continue 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. with NAM’s food and toy distribution. When families arrive, they will be welcomed with holiday music, free cookies and hot chocolate.  Plus, there will be a visit from Santa Claus himself!  Also, on hand, there will be some helpful “elves” gift wrapping presents for anyone receiving toys from NAM.

Registration for NAM’s Holiday Project is now closed, but donations for food, and especially toys, are currently being accepted. Food donations may be delivered to the Joanne Watford Nutrition Center (JWNC) located on the side of NAM’s building at 15555 Kuykendahl Road, Houston, Texas 77090.

Toy donations may be delivered to NAM’s Toy Room on the Main Floor at NAM.  Only new, unwrapped toys are being accepted for children ages 0 – 12 years old.  NAM currently has a higher need for toys for boys and girls between the ages of 7-12 years. The NAM Toy Room will be open Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  All toy donations will be accepted until Friday, December 13, 2019.  If you are interested in holding a Toy Drive for NAM please contact Brian Carr at [email protected] for details.

If you are unable to make it to NAM to drop off a food or toy donation, you can make a monetary contribution online at https://www.namonline.org/2019_holiday_blessings. Your gift to NAM will make a huge difference for neighbors in need!

Last year NAM’s Holiday Project provided meals for nearly 2,000 local families and toys for over 2,000 children.
