NAM Distributes Food to Housing Clients

On Saturday, September 12, 2020 NAM distributed food to 50 families that are signed up in our Housing program. The focus of this event was to show particular services to our Housing clients and provide them with free groceries. The clients also received a tote bag that consisted of books and journals about stress relief; and for families with children/teens, age specific books were included. In addition to receiving food, some families utilized this time to pick up their school supplies for their child that they had signed-up for through NAM's Back To School Project.

NAM partnered with Mex Flores Produce Company Inc. to provide a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, and volunteers from the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints assisted with prepping the food and helped with the distribution. To abide by CDC rules, all volunteers and staff wore face masks and gloves, and clients were asked to remain in their vehicles. Once their car pulled up in front of NAM's Joanne Watford Nutrition Center our devoted volunteers and staff brought the bags out and placed them in their cars.

Families that were unable to attend due to lack of transportation were contacted to confirm they were home, and those bags of groceries and books were delivered by NAM staff during the afternoon.
