Did you ever really think about how your donation to NAM Resale helps your neighbors? Most of us don't give it a second thought. We just know it is better to give it to NAM than throw away our gently used clothes, furniture and houseware.

Once you have Jay pick up your donated goods or Tim unloads them from your car, a group of valuable volunteers begin to sort through your donated items.

Top end clothes and jewelry, that are in very good to excellent condition, are priced and set aside for Jennifer to sell in the store. These items are priced lower than regular retail but are higher than the value rack items. These items are priced to sell relatively quick to generate revenue and to allow us to turn over inventory more often.

Furniture and housewares are priced and put out on the floor for sale in the donation / clearance center. NAM Resale Director, Jason has built great relationships with customers and resellers who compete to get NAM the best price for these goods.

Items that show slightly more wear than the top end items are sold on value racks. These low priced racks give the community the opportunity to purchase affordable clothes and housewares for their families.

The cumulative total of these sales generate thousands of dollars each month for NAM programs and services.

In addition; NAM Resale is a vital part of NAM's assistance programs. Case managers work with families that have found themselves suddenly homeless, families that are escaping domestic violence or are in need of nice clothes for a job interview that has the promise of lifting the family out of the cycle of poverty. We use your donated goods to directly help these families.

As you can see, your donated goods do indeed help your neighbors.
