The Jeans & Jewels Luncheon and Style Show benefiting Northwest Assistance Ministries was a success, and NAM is now gearing up for its Jeans and Jewels gala on Oct. 18.
The Luncheon and Style Show raised nearly $25,000 up from $21,000 last year. The event featured mother and daughter fashions from Scruples. The luncheon was emceed by Dana Tyson of Sunny 99.1 Radio and honored long-time volunteer Cindy Doyle.
Luncheon organizers included Margie Crump, Pauline Adams, Nita Bedford, Kathy Carson, Peggy Jo Coker, Susan Diehl, Suzanne Ellis, Raelene Hill, Merle Rumsey, Jackie Riley, Lou Shirley, Louise Slater, Kathy Stevens, Sue Stewart, Valerie vonBerg and Barbara Watson.
The Jeans and Jewels gala is set for Saturday, Oct. 18, at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott and NAM needs funds raised through this event more than ever, said gala co-chairs Nita Bedford and Susan Diehl.
“Hurricane Ike seemed to impact everyone, but NAM is counting on funds raised at the gala to continue operating throughout the year,” Diehl said. “It is important that people step up and support the event so NAM is here day in and day as well as when there is a crisis.”
Gala honorees are Lindy and Steve Hamblin. Major gala sponsors include Methodist Willowbrook Hospital, the Newfield Foundation, Citation Oil and Gas Corp., Ultra Petroleum, Valerie and John vonBerg, Linda and Harlan Martens, the Ann and Rob McKee Family Foundation, and the Watford Family Foundation.
This year’s gala raffle item is a pendant and earring set designed by Gadi and donated by Thomas Markle Jewelers. The pendant is on a 20-inch gold chain and has a 4.75 CT fantasy cut garnet and it is surrounded by diamonds at .25ctw. Diamonds also surround 4.80 CT fantasy cut garnets in each earring. The total value is $6,200.
Pre-purchase raffle tickets are $20 or 6/$100. Only 5,000 tickets have been printed.
