The Rotary Learning Center/Workforce Development Program offers classes and small group tutoring for students interested in basic literacy, English as a Second Language, GED high school equivalency certificates, or U.S. citizenship. NAM offers this program during the day Monday through Friday and in the evening on Tuesday and Thursday. Registration for ESL classes is held three to four times a year; an appointment is required. Mandatory orientation for free GED preparation classes is held three times a year. Dates and times for the orientation class are available from the Learning Center receptionist. English Literacy/Civics classes are offered twice a year for a nominal fee. The Adult Basic Literacy program has open enrollment during regular school hours.
The Center also offers a comprehensive Workforce Development Program. The program has taken a break for the summer and will begin activities again in the fall. NAM is developing a partnership with the Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) to provide workforce training and placement services to individuals with disabilities. NAM has applied to become a DARS Community Rehabilitative Provider beginning this fall. Other Workforce Development Program services will be available based on funding.
In the 2005-2006 fiscal year the Rotary Learning Center/Workforce Development Program:

Provided services to an average of 148 students a day and provided 15,392 class hours of computer instruction each week.

Workforce Development has partnered with 236 employers who are willing to accept applications and conduct interviews with potential employees from the program.

The staff conducted 21 job fairs at NAM during the fiscal year, involving 64 employers.

The Workforce Development program served 387 people and placed 240 in jobs.
