In 2006, Local Independent Charities named NAM a "Best in America Charity."

In 2005, Spring Independent School District presented NAM with the Above and Beyond the Call of Duty (ABCD) Award for NAM's Hurricane Relief efforts.

In 2005, the Houston Business Journal Book of Lists named NAM one of the top 25 charities in the city.

In 2005, NAM met all 20 Better Business Bureau Standards of Charity Regulations.

In 2004, The Greater Houston Collaborative for Children named NAM’s Children’s Clinic winner of the Maconda Brown O’Connor "Spirit of Collaboration Award" which is presented annually to an individual and an organization committed to developing and sustaining collaborations that benefit Houston’s children.  The award exemplifies the following characteristics of a collaborative partner: contributing time and/or resources to the collaboration, participating as an equal partner with others who have a stake in the outcome, embracing diversity, exploring new ways to address problems, creating a shared vision, and acting as a facilitator and mediator.

In 2003, Charity Navigator, America's premier independent charity evaluator, awarded NAM four out of a possible four stars indicating excellence in the area of strong fiscal management, as compared with other charities in America. 

In 2002, the Greater Houston Collaborative for Children named NAM a finalist for the Spirit of Collaboration Award.

2001 Honorable Mention Better Business Bureau Award for Excellence in the category of Medium Non-Profit.

NAM Community Gardens was presented with the Urban Harvest's Nutgrassroots 2001 Award, on November 3, 2001, at the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center.

In 2000, NAM received a National Society of Fundraising Executives award for its successful Circle of Friends fundraising events.

In 1999, NAM received an award by The Texas Dental Association for its commitment to providing dental care for disadvantaged children in Northwest Harris County.

NAM received a Certificate of Recognition for "Outstanding Achievement in the Volunteer Community" from the 1998 Governor's Volunteer Awards.

The Children's Clinic was honored as the UT-Houston and Enron Spotlight Clinic of the Month in the newsletter Prescription for Reading for their fight against illiteracy.

Houston Support Center Thousand Points of Light Award winner for management excellence.

Leadership Houston Award winner in the category of Futurism for the development of The Children's Clinic.

National Council of Churches Award  recognized the collaborative work of NAM's congregations in developing and opening The Children's Clinic, and in the Council's words, "for healing the brokenness in community."

Leadership Houston Recognition Award in the category of Volunteerism for NAM's Back-to-School Project.
