The Better Business Bureau of Houston has evaluated Northwest Assistance Ministries in relation to the 20 Better Business Bureau Standards for Charitable Accountability and determined that NAM meets all of the standards. In addition, NAM has received citywide attention and accreditation for its innovative efforts to provide families in need with a full range of services all under one roof and has been recognized by:

• Leadership Houston in the category of Futurism for the development of The Children’s Clinic and for
Volunteerism for its Back-To-School project.
• The National Council of Churches “for healing the brokenness in a community.”
• The Governor’s Volunteer Awards for “outstanding achievement in the volunteer community.”
• The National Society of Fund Raising Executives for NAM’s successful Circle of Friends fund-raising events.
• Urban Harvest for establishing and maintaining a community garden for many years.
• The Better Business Bureau for excellence in management.
• The Texas Department of Health for achieving an immunization rate over 80%.
• The Maconda Brown O'Connor Spirit of Collaboration Award from the Greater Houston Collaboration for Children
for efforts in collaboration to benefit Houston's children.
