The 10th annual Jeans & Jewels…A Texas Size Party is set for Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Woodlands Waterway Marriott.
The gala co-chairs are Nita Bedford and Susan Diehl, and they are seeking sponsors, volunteers and auction item donations to help raise funds for NAM. The Jeans and Jewels gala is NAM’s largest fund-raising event and proceeds go to help families in need. Susan is reprising her role as co-chair after last year’s successful gala netted $502,000. Her 2007 co-chair was Valerie vonBerg. Valerie now serves on NAM’s Executive Board.
The 2007 Jeans & Jewels…A Texas Size Party exceeded all gala fundraising goals for Northwest Assistance Ministries' programs that provide food, medical access, school supplies, education and assistance to individuals and families in need throughout the area. The top 2007 gala supporters were: The Newfield Foundation, Ultra Petroleum Corp., Honey and Rex Tucker, Valerie and John vonBerg, the Watford Family Foundation, Citation Oil and Gas Corp., Memorial Hermann Healthcare System and Linda and Harlan Martens.
NAM touched the lives of more than 100,000 people last year from more than 130 ZIP codes through programs and services such as Assistance, the Interfaith Hospitality Network for homeless families, the Children's Clinic, the Food Pantry, the Family Violence Center, the Resale Shops, Meals on Wheels, the Fifty Plus Senior Center, Rotary Learning Center/Workforce Development Program and NAM Counseling Center.
