The special events team and Jeans & Jewels Committee are working on the final touches for Northwest Assistance Ministries' 2021 edition of Jeans & Jewels Gala "A Texas Size Party".
This year's gala, themed "On the Acres", will move to Shirley Acres where the event will utilize both of the event rooms as well as the pavilion area. The event date has also been changed from Saturday, October 9th to Friday, October 8th. The event will see more than a dozen casino tables, music and mayhem from the Dueling Pianos and a dance floor where couples can dance the night away to live music.
Special attention has been made to ensure plenty of great food and drink for all. "While the venue may have changed the committee has worked hard to create a fun filled evening for everyone", stated Les Cave, NAM's President / CEO. "After missing last year due to the pandemic the main goal of this event is to celebrate the service that NAM provides to the community along with a long needed chance to visit friends and have some fun", added Mr. Cave.
A special part of the event's program will be the awarding of the first Annual Stoebner Volunteer of the Year Award to Paula and Mark Stoebner. The Stoebner's have set the bar high for NAM volunteers by showing up nearly everyday since before the pandemic to work in the Joanne Watford Nutrition Center. Their energy and leadership has proven valuable to the pantry's work over the past 18 months.
